privacy policy
last updated: 3 july 2026 · trubbo is in private testing
trubbo is a voice-first quiz. to play, you speak and trubbo listens, so a little of your data passes through us. this page explains what we collect, why, and what stays yours. we keep it to a minimum, we run the app in the eu, and we're upfront about the providers who help make it work.
who we are
trubbo is a product operated by missinghue s.r.o., a company registered in the czech republic (IČO 07288093), with its seat at Kotěrova 1588/2a, Dejvice, 160 00 Praha 6, Czech Republic. for anything on this page, or any request about your data, write to hi@trubbo.app. missinghue s.r.o. is the data controller.
what we collect
- your email and account, if you sign in with apple, so you have a home for your topics and progress. apple gives us your email and an account id.
- your email, if you join the early-access list on our website, so we can tell you when trubbo opens up.
- your voice, while you play, so trubbo can hear your answer and tell you if you got it. voice is processed to run the game.
- how you use trubbo, such as topics you pick and questions you answer, so we can keep the game working and make it better.
- basic technical data, such as device type and rough region, which comes with almost any app or website.
giving us your email or speaking your answers is always your choice. if you'd rather not, you just can't join the waitlist or play out loud.
why we're allowed to
under the eu general data protection regulation (gdpr), we rely on:
- your consent, for the early-access list and for using your microphone. giving these is entirely up to you, and you can withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.
- performing our agreement with you, to run your account and deliver any topics you buy.
- legitimate interest, for keeping trubbo running, keeping it secure, and making it better over time, using usage and technical data in a way you'd reasonably expect from a game like this.
ai and your voice
trubbo's questions are generated by large language models. when you speak, we turn your speech into text so the game understands your answer, and then the audio recording is discarded. we do not create a voiceprint and we never use your voice to identify you, so your voice is not treated as biometric data.
to turn your speech into text and to generate questions, that data passes through ai service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, to make the game work. these providers are us companies, so this part of your data is processed in the united states (see "where your data lives" below). we don't sell your data and we don't hand it over for anyone's advertising.
where your data lives
we run the trubbo app and store your account in an eu data center. several of the tools we rely on are us companies, so some of your data is processed in the united states: the speech you say (sent to be turned into text, after which the audio is discarded), the text we send to generate questions, your sign-in and any purchase through apple, and your website waitlist email. where data goes to the us, the transfer is covered either by the eu-us data privacy framework or by the european commission's standard contractual clauses. the providers we use are listed below.
how long we keep it
we keep data only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires. in practice:
- your account (email, account id, progress) stays while your account exists. if it sits unused for 24 months we may delete or anonymise it, and when you delete your account we remove this within 30 days, apart from records the law makes us keep.
- your voice is never stored. speech becomes text on the fly and the transcript is dropped right after it runs the round.
- early-access emails stay until trubbo launches or until you ask us to remove you.
- purchases are handled by apple, which holds your receipt and refund history. we only get aggregated reports that don't identify you, so we don't keep a per-user record of what you bought.
- accounting and tax records we're required by czech law to keep for set periods: accounting documents for 5 years and vat documents for 10 years (act 563/1991 coll. and act 235/2004 coll.). these are the aggregated reports above and hold no personal account data.
- technical and security logs are kept up to 90 days, unless we need a specific entry longer to look into a security issue.
- backups roll over on a short cycle of up to 35 days. when you ask us to delete your data we remove it from live systems straight away, and it drops out of backups as they expire.
if you want your data gone sooner, just ask.
who we share it with
we don't sell your data, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising. we only share what's needed with the service providers who help us run trubbo, and only under agreements that keep your data protected. the ones that handle personal data are:
- fly.io - app hosting and account storage, eu region.
- apple - sign-in and in-app purchases (united states).
- elevenlabs - turning your speech into text as you play, and reading questions aloud (united states).
- openai - a backup for turning your speech into text, and generating questions (united states).
- anthropic, google - generating the questions you play (united states).
- tavily - looking up facts so questions stay accurate (united states).
- netlify - hosting this website and storing waitlist emails (united states).
- improvmx - forwarding email sent to our address (united states).
we keep this list current as trubbo grows, and we can point you to each provider's own privacy terms on request.
your rights
under gdpr you can ask us to: see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or hand it over in a portable form. you can also object to certain processing and withdraw consent at any time. to stop voice input, turn off the microphone permission on your device; to leave the waitlist, use the unsubscribe link in any email. write to hi@trubbo.app and we'll sort it out. if you're still unhappy, you can complain to the czech data protection authority (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, uoou.gov.cz).
trubbo generates questions and reads your answers automatically, but it does not make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
children
trubbo is made to be played by the whole car, kids included, but an account, purchases, and the early-access list are for people aged 16 and over, and by signing in or joining you confirm you're one. if a child plays, it's out loud with a grown-up nearby, and we don't knowingly collect personal data directly from children. we don't offer child accounts yet, so please don't sign in if you're under 16.
changes to this policy
when trubbo grows, this page will grow with it. we'll always show the date of the latest version at the top, and for bigger changes we'll do our best to let you know.
